Not having a car is no big deal when you work at home and dont have to deal with it until you actually need a car . After saying forget it with the car I had this past month it's become very clear that I need a car. With my job lay offs at the end of this month I am facing reality that I will have to actually go to Houston for employment . Earlier this year for the first 6 months according to Linked in I applied for 962 jobs and had 15 interviews (some I was under qualified, over qualified and they didn't want to pay me or its the same thing im doing now with worse hours and less pay ) . I have a Bachelors in Criminal Justice but no experience in the field . Over the past 23 years of work history I have only worked in a customer care/call center/hospitality. Imagine my excitement and shock when a Law firm was going to give me a chance to work their Marketing for them . I had a phone interview that lasted 30 minutes and a face to face with the office manager yesterday she said she would call for a second interview . She called 2 hours later and set it for today at 2pm. I was excited made sure I was ready and called my uber for pickup by the time i got everything set up the uber came and my drop off was going to be 3 mins after my interview he got me there at 202 i made it up to the 14th floor it was 205 walked in and the office manager walked me out . Said I had the job but with my tardiness the partners decided to go with another candidate. I have regretted a few things in life in hindsight they have lead me on to paths bigger or better and I've kept that mindset with life . This honestly doesn't feel like that at all this feels like a stupid rookie do not care about what her life holds kinda deal. I have never shown up late to an interview and the one time i decided to was career changing . Maybe its fresh wounds maybe i need to go back to the drawing board and work out my game plan maybe it wasn't the job for me .
