So during this walk of singleness I thought I'd try a hand at my faith or lack there of growing up my mother tried to have us attend church regularly then my great aunt and I tried again in my adult years all were misses .Now I'm doing my best to walk taller and stronger in my faith I'm far from where I need to be but I'm doing my very best . With that being said I was invited out for drinks with an old friend from high school we caught up about each other's lives ,talked about being single and as he ran off about all the things he's looking for and talking to about the man he is today. And I'll be honest the mental check list I ran in my head he hit all the marks after a few drinks some laughs we bid our farewells and I went home and thought more about my encounter with my blast for the past. He invited me out again and I discussed about how I enjoyed his company and that I was very intrigued by him then he in a very nice manner stated he could not date me or waste my time due to my religious beliefs . Yea utter shock straight to the throat , I played back in my mind about our discussion on religion it was brief and it was me stating about going to church that morning and that was all .he also stated that he was Afrikan conscious the only reason this confuses me is that men or women who claim to be afrikan conscious are all about black empowerment and loving your black excellence the issue I have with him and stating this to me was I'm new in my walk with God and apparently me stating I went to church gives me a for sure golden ticket to heaven it also confuses me since he only dates white/latin/biracial women . I feel like the response was a cop out/nice way of letting me down when all he could have said I'm just not that into you.
